In dedication to the untimely passing of singer Whitney Houston, here is Vanessa Jackson (née Vanessa Moraes) singing her rendition of Whitney’s hit “Didn’t We Almost Have It All”. As I introduced her in previous posts, Vanessa came to fame winning on the TV show Fama, Brazil’s American Idol-styled reality show, and was recently chosen to play to lead in the Brazilian production of Alice Walker’s The Color Purple. Vanessa is known in Brazil for her renditions of classic songs by Whitney, Michael Jackson, Jennifer Holiday, Beyonce and others.
